Back to School with Handcraft!

Buckle up y’all, this review is going to be a long one. as most of you know my partnership with handcraft has been long-running. we’re talking nearly since the creation of Tatorthoughts long!

And just when I thought it couldn’t possibly get any better they prove me wrong!

When you think handcraft by now you probably think potty training genius, children’s underwear and convenient on the go change kits. And if that’s what you think about you would be absolutely right! But they are so much more than that, of course potty training with confidence is a big priority but evidently so is generosity. This review is proof of that.

My good friends at handcraft have completely out done themselves, in honor of back to school they have generously sent me thousands of dollars worth of merchandise. (see detailed list below) but let’s discuss why. You’re probably thinking “what’s the big deal?, it’s just underwear.”

But it’s so much more than that many children have nervousness and anxiety over starting back to school, or starting school, or changing schools, or even just change in general. A change like this is huge!

And even the best potty trained of us will experience an accident at some point regardless of age. So handcraft and I have partnered together to end the stigma around accidents of all kinds & For kids of any age regardless of the circumstance!

You might be thinking to yourself “my child is “too big” for that” you would be wrong.

en·u·re·sis

/ˌenyəˈrēsis/

noun

involuntary urination, especially by children at night.” See also nocturnal Enuresis.

Nocturnal Enuresis commonly referred to as bedwetting is most recognized in smaller children however it can affect people of any age, regardless of gender. However the inability to control your bladder especially in tense upsetting situations isn’t as commonly recognized and it’s nowhere near talked about enough!

This can affect people of any age regardless of how long they have been or even how well they were potty trained.

27% of parents whose children presented a problem sought medical attention for it, it is seen in nearly 29% of all children. It is more common in males and you are more likely to have it if you have a prevailant family history of it, But with so few willing to talk about it how would we know?

I am a mother before I am anything but I take being an educator very seriously. It is my duty to not only advocate for my own children, but all children.

I’m open enough to discuss that this is something that directly affects my family. I’ve also seen it heavily affect the children that I’ve taught. There is no shame. There is no stigma, not with me, within my family or in my teaching environment because THERE SHOULDN’T BE!

If it’s up to me to advocate and educate then I will, but clearly I won’t be doing it alone. The amazing folks at handcraft stand with me!

And we haven’t even scratched the surface this is only talking about diagnosed Enuresis, but what about the fear of a new place, being too afraid to ask for permission to go to the bathroom or even for directions to a bathroom, anxiety or any other chronic medical condition that could cause any type of incontinence whether it’s urinary or otherwise.

If it’s not us who shows these children grace regardless of their age, my question to you is who will? No bodily function warrants scolding and it might be an unpopular opinion but I stand by it. Sheets and clothes can be changed, messes can be cleaned, but you cannot undo emotional damage from scolding a child for something that they have no control over. Parents and teachers please be mindful of this as your children are sent back into the world of education no matter what that looks like for your family.

Advocacy is clearly very important to me as well as this amazing company. they were so kind to send me so many wonderful things and I can’t wait to share them all with you!

I’m sure everyone is familiar with Champion brand authentic athletic wear but did you know that champion is handcraft?! Until our partnership I had no idea I knew I loved their products on the shelves but I had no idea whatsoever just how many things handcraft as a company has a hand in!

(pun intended)

They were so kind as to send me not one not two.. but FORTY-ONE PAIRS of authentic champion athletic socks!!

Needless to say there will be no cold or Barefeet around me anytime soon!!

This in and of itself blew me away, but they didn’t stop there and the box that arrived at my door May as well have been the Mary Poppins bag of all shipping boxes!

They sent me 73 pairs of underwear! Ranging in size from 18 months to medium 10/12!

They also sent me 6 Handcraft change kit plus packs as well as 7 original handcraft change kits.

Guys they sent me the equivalent of an entire washing machine load! Needless to say when any accidents do occur on my watch and believe me they will. there will be no shortage of preparedness, we will not only be ready we will be proud! Accidents signify being human although they might be slightly embarrassing I can tell you one thing that definitely eases that sting..  The incredible print options they sent me! (Honestly I wish I could wear some of these.)

But.. THERE’S MORE!

We all know we’ve been living in The COVID-19 pandemic, for quite some time.

Handcraft sent me 3 packs of kids facemasks! While my children may be too young for masks themselves, I know more than enough children who aren’t that actually need masks! They’re washable!, super cute and all kid friendly!

And just when you think we’re done.. we’re not!

Not only did they send me everything above they continued to show they care about their partners and the community by sending me several promotional products!

Handcraft sets the bar extremely high especially in the generosity department!

Potty training and crappy days in general can be quite stressful they sent me 14 custom branded poop emoji stress balls And 2 incredibly squishy handcraft underwear logo shaped stress balls.

My friends at handcraft had no way of knowing about my Neurodivergence or the Neurodivergence in my family but they hit the nail on the head with this one! Not only are these incredible for sensory purposes they make great additions to any classroom treasure box.

They sent me three individual prize packets containing a very well-written congratulatory letter, A three pack of primary colored crayons, two potty training genius custom coloring pages, A company product informational slip, and a very unique punch out magnet photo frame for when your child becomes a potty trained genius!  I look forward to giving these to three special families!

Along with those they so kindly sent 30 additional potty training genius magnets and something that made my 90s kid heart flutter with complete unadulterated joy!..

They sent me a handcraft branded pin art board in the shape of their underwear logo!

Needless to say everything is appreciated but I will proudly display the pin art board on any desk I have until the end of time!

Now that we’ve gotten into the specifics of their overwhelming generosity, everything this review includes & why this review is as necessary as any other back-to-school feature you’ll see this season, let’s discuss quality. handcraft sets the bar sky high and not only do I think that’s a great example for our children I think we as parents and caregivers can take pride in knowing that our families use, support and value their products with ease and peace of mind. even from the tiniest of tush that’s ready to potty train they’ve got you covered! Their thick absorbent , Soft and nearly plush potty training underwear are exactly what any child needs to have the independence of big kid status with the protection that they may need as they learn.

their potty training change kits give grab-and-go simplicity to preparedness, giving parents peace of mind and one less thing to worry about so that no matter where your adventure takes you your family is always ready.

The all-inclusive potty training Genius kit gives a child all the tools they need to succeed, in a fun interactive and easy to understand way. Just add praise and support from loved ones and watch them flourish!

Their underwear of all types accommodate all shapes and sizes. Giving kids regardless of age or gender comfort that comes adorned with their favorite characters!

Their socks regardless of style give comfort and confidence and parents can take heart knowing that their children are covered from head to toe in the Best. these high-quality socks are the right fit for all with varying thickness options and cuts you’re sure to find what works best for you.

The partnership with my friends at handcraft has been one of the most enriching and enjoyable experiences I can say that I’ve ever had. they’ve been so kind and shown so much support for not only me but for my dreams over the last two years and I could never repay that of course I will always be a proud supporter of any product they create because I know without a doubt it will be great.  They have been nothing short of an absolute joy to work with and a blessing in my life. I find myself short of the words to accurately describe the feeling so simply put it’s pride. Not only am I overflowing with gratitude I’m proud of the work that we’ve done together and the work that we could continue to do and my only hope is that they as a company are equally as proud of what we’ve managed to do together. The change we’ve been able to create, the awareness we’ve been able to give and the incredible products I’ve been able to display in front of all of you thanks to their generosity and Faith in my abilities.

Thank you to both Julia and JoAnn from the bottom of my heart, from all of us at Tatorthoughts and every family who has benefited from your company’s existence.

so I challenge you next time you visit your local preferred store look around I promise you’ll see handcraft products that you and your children love.

If you take away anything from this review please let it be that being prepared is simple, being kind is easy, and no matter your story, background ,or need handcraft has you covered. Kellogg’s is feeding reading!

My family and I are proud supporters and participants of Kellogg’s feeding reading program: offering free penguin random House books to families and schools.

As part of the feeding reading program if you buy a box you get a book you simply submit your receipt on their website after creating an account and for every eligible item on your receipt you receive a point for a free book limit six per participating registered account but you can either choose to keep or donate your books to a school of your choice. The books are either shipped directly to your home or to the school of your choice depending on which option you choose.

I as a parent and an educator I know the importance of literature availability regardless of age and it’s such a wonderful thing to see companies like Kellogg’s freely offer the joy of reading through programs like this.

As for my family we chose to take our six credits and keep four, to foster the love of reading in our home and donated two to our favorite local school to put more books at the finger tips of children looking to learn and explore through the art of reading literature.

While you’re out shopping preparing for kids going back to school and gearing up for lunches and snacks on the go look to your favorite brands and see if your family could earn a free book just by doing the shopping you already do! My guess is you’ll have no trouble.

Buy a box, create an account, submit your receipt & choose your free book!

It really is that simple..

Visit the link below to register and submit your own receipts the joy of reading is a few clicks away!

https://www.kelloggsfamilyrewards.com/en_US/promotions/2021-bts-national/login.html

*Send each receipt separately. Receipts must be submitted within 14 days of purchase and no later than 10/14/21. Book credits must be redeemed by 10/31/21 at 11:59 PM (ET). Limit 6 books per participant. Must be a U.S. resident, 16 years of age or older, and a registered member of Kellogg’s Family Rewards®. See FeedingReading.com for full list of participating products.*

Huge thank you to kellogg’s for understanding the value of books and for this opportunity!

Back to School 2021-22 preschool at home for 2-year-old!

My almost 2.5-year-old Raiden is somewhat advanced for his age. Yet it still took me by complete surprise that he began to come to me daily and ask for “school”

Maybe it’s because nearly all his friends are school-aged, or maybe it’s that he knows mama is a teacher and sees me work or even a combination of the two. (or something else entirely?) but regardless the driving force my child has a hunger to learn and grow! Praise heavens for that!

So being the educator and above and beyond extra mom I am I had to make his dreams of an early school come true,

Even if I had to make it happen at home!

So that’s exactly what we’ve done!

We turned out dining room into a designated & decorated learning space,

Invested in trusted resources (reviews on curriculum coming soon!)

and we even bought him his own backpack with a lunch box!

-Melissa & Doug magnetic calendar and chore chart set

-Interactive learning posters

-conversation invoking child-friendly decor

And more to come!

Mind you this is only to get us through the 2021-22 school year. The goal for next year is to have a completely separate dedicated space for school but as parents you find a way or you make a way!

Can’t wait to share this journey with you all as we help prepare Raiden for his public pre-K & beyond journey that’s only 2 short years away!

So here is a sneak peek into where we’ll be learning incredible new things and making precious memories together over the next 10 months.

We also ventured as a family to the southeast homeschool expo at the cobb galleria center this past weekend and had a wonderful time, I’m a better parent and educator for going and genuinely enjoyed the time we spent as a family learning and growing together! During this time Tatorthoughts met some interesting people and made some great new contacts also!

It was a very exciting and enriching experience.

New school shoes for Raiden: an Amazon score & Sensory processing win.

Any parent knows back to school means multiple things; a season change (literally and metaphorically) ,and a major shopping trip being two of the first to come to mind.

Aside from the supply lists that change every year and the new backpacks & lunchboxes kids always need new shoes.

In my personal experience we’re buying our kids shoes 3-4x a year about once a season if you will, I know it’s because they’re little and grow so fast at this stage but even with older kids 2-3x per year seems to be the norm.

With that being said, can you guess what we did? That’s right! Raiden got new shoes!

This is the kid who’s feet are like lava 90% of the time, he’s not a huge fan of tight shoes or certain fabrics but we’ve been blessed to find him several pairs of shoes from different brands that he loved, he wore these things until his feet simply wouldn’t fit into the shoes, cute but hard to explain to a very particular toddler.

As much as he loved his Oshkosh bump toe shoes, ikiki squeaky shoes and monster loafers from Carters when he started to outgrow his most recent pair of all-terrain quick drying simi-flexible hiking shoes we started looking for a pair similar to what he’s loved in the past. Which lead us to these on Amazon.  Sold by KIZWANT these size 9 canvas sneakers are one of nine style options and of course we went with sharks because our boy loves sharks and shoes!

Amazon has its perks for sure, but with some things it’s buyer-beware at best this isn’t one of those! Let me tell you these were an instant win with Raiden! He’s in between sizes so these fit great with room to grow and when I tell you I followed that store as fast as I possibly could so we can order more for him later I was probably just as excited as he was! All parents want to see their kids happy and well cared for but it’s a huge thing when parents of kids with sensory issues see that kind of happiness in their children after such a struggle with something so necessary as shoes.

These shoes are still sturdy enough for any activity he’d do, the lightweight shoe with flexible sole and flattering design was everything we were looking for and then some!

If you’re interested in ordering some for your child, most of these styles are gender-neutral and have a 10-20% off coupon from time to time, depending on style & size selection.  You can find them directly using the link below:

The Children’s place kids clothing haul summer 2021!

These clothes always wash and wear super well, my kids love them and they fit true to size on my tiny but tall daughter and my off-the-charts two-year-old son!

They also offer mommy & me and daddy & me matching dresses & shirts as well as countless family wear opinions to make sure your whole crew; parents, grandparents aunts & uncles included! Show up in style!

Got kids in schools that require uniforms?

Do kiddos need a new backpack & lunchbox? No problem Children’s place is a one-stop shop for back-to-school apparel!

Need church or special occasion dress clothes for your littles? They got you covered there too!

We love children’s place from head to toe! (Literally, from hats & headbands to socks & shoes)

They also have accessories to match their pieces and even display combinations on their website for paring inspiration!

We needed birthday party shirts for Sawyer’s first birthday they had us covered!

Kids all grow super fast, why spend a fortune when you can get clothes, shoes & accessories you and your kids will love? When you can shop with children’s place for a fraction of the cost for the same (sometimes better quality than you would at high-end department stores

To top it off every dollar you spend works in your favor! Earn points for the money you’re already spending and cash in those rewards for money off your next purchase, and you’re not paying to ship so that means FREE PRODUCTS, just for spending what you already do!

Their customer service is great, if you ever have a problem you can reach out and they’ll handle it, AND if you get something for your kids or yourself that doesn’t fit or you don’t like it as much in person you can return in for free in-store, you really can’t lose! RUN! Download the my place app on iOS or Android and create an account. Shop those deals y’all!

Fisher-Price Healthy Care Booster Seat Product Review!

When you hear “fisher price” what’s the first thing to come to mind?

It may be your own memories of childhood toys, their commercials, or their quality but the company founded more than 9 decades ago is so much more than the toys they develop that surely became a staple in most of our lives as parents and children ourselves.

In honor of fisher prices 91st anniversary on June 19th I’m showcasing two incredible FP products that aren’t toys! Are they a toy manufacturer? Absolutely, are they education & development oriented? Of course! But they’re also makers of baby & toddler gear such as swings, high chairs, booster seats, bath tubs & so much more!

My son and daughter who most of you know are 14 months apart used the same multi directional swing made by none other than Fisher-Price!

Having kids so close in age has its perks for sure & was perfect for our family although it’s not for everyone, but just when I thought our house couldn’t be more overrun by at least 1 of everything Fisher-Price I realized, we NEEDED something that Raiden & Sawyer didn’t have, high chairs we could take on the go!

Don’t get me wrong we had high chairs, Three of them to be exact. before we ever purchased our take along set however they were at home seats Two Graco brand, one of which is a multi piece table height adjustable traditional high chair that is portable but not small space friendly we learned this the hard way hauling it to and from Raiden’s first birthday party at almost 7 months pregnant  and one 6-in-1 high chair, booster and table combo which Raiden got at his first birthday party that very same day. Both are great but have their drawbacks and they’re more suitable for at home use, at least for our family specifically.  Sawyer’s home high chair however, was a baby shower gift and it’s a fisher price in chair booster too! But that’s not the one we’re featuring today.. as great as it is and as much as we love it it wasn’t feasible to transport that seat everywhere we went either. The fabric seat cover would get easily dirty, it’s bulky and doesn’t make sense to drag it everywhere we went either especially not during a pandemic.

We needed something safe to use at home as well as something sturdy, compact, and lightweight for on the go once we  re-emerged after a year inside but easy to clean was also a must to cut down on germs.

Which brings me to today’s review!

(Finally right?! Tator get to the point!)

I found everything I was searching for and then some! And it’s no surprise they’re FP products!

**Below I will include stock product photos and IRL use photos taken of my kids, living their best lives thanks to FP. **

Fisher-Price® Healthy Care™ Booster Seat (Sawyer’s on the go seat)

Product#: BMD93

Released in 2013

The Fisher-Price® Healthy Care™ Booster Seat has a feeding tray you can sanitize right in the dishwasher, all of the surfaces can easily be wiped and disinfected, there are no crevices to hide crumbs or spills therefore the seat harbors no bacteria! Front and rear seat straps adjust to help you fit the seat on almost any chair! Folds compactly for portability, with a carry strap so you can take everywhere baby goes and this Tray and seat back remove for easy conversion to a portable toddler booster seat!

•A great fit for most dining and kitchen chairs.

•Dishwasher-safe feeding tray.

•Adjustable 3-point harness, so your precious little one is always snug!

•Folds for portability with convenient over-the-shoulder carry strap, which comes in handy especially when you’re carrying more than one seat, or child! (speaking from experience here!)

Item arrives in frustration-free, easy-to-open packaging that’s 100% recyclable. which I think is great but the packaging appearance leaves something to be desired, but recyclable cardboard is cardboard so I really can’t complain. It definitely doesn’t take away from the item itself or the gift ability of the item! These things are a baby shower staple gift now, coming from someone who’s had multiple showers herself!

This seat is perfect for Sawyer, gender neutral colors, easy to clean, set up, & fold down and it’s even better for accommodating her size! Sp is a very tall yet light and small statured baby girl at 19lbs and more than 32 inches. (she turned ONE, the day before FP turned 91!)

•Built-in cup holder.

•Removable compartmented serving space.

•3 height adjustments.

IN  ADDITION TO all the qualities listed for Sawyer’s seat!

These seats are essentially the same, one just has additional features and therefore is the upgraded version but for all intent & purposes we got both!

we love Raiden’s seat because like Sawyer‘a booster accommodates her the deluxe booster accommodates Raiden! My nearly 4-foot-tall, almost 40lbs 2 year old. (27 months to be exact)

we love that these boosters are versatile and either seat can be used by either child!
we used them multiple places & events in addition to the fact that my wonderful mother in law currently has the seats so that the kids are 100% prepared to go hang out with Mimi & papa at any time!

I’ve made a lot of great purchases as a parent but I have to say, these are probably two of the best products we own for them!

This just proves fisher price has been on their A-Game for a very long time! Yes these seats were released in 2013 but they have stood the test of time! And yes we have family members that had these seats as well as earlier models so clearly they’re worth the $27 & $35 USD respectively!

If you’re interested in purchasing either model you can find them both on Amazon and at target as well as directly from

Fisher-Price.com!

You can find these boosters and several other models including sp’s at home booster by clicking on the link below! ⬇️⬇️ (You’re welcome!)

Grove collaborative subscription product review

Y’all I have got to rave about Grove collaborative! This is one bandwagon I had to jump on and let me tell you why, wow our family is very blessed we still have some serious obstacles we have to maneuver around unfortunately cleaning products that are available on the open market such as the ones you find in your grocery store or other big box stores are not friendly to our lungs I am heavily asthmatic, my son has had collapsed lungs and my daughter has an upper airway condition that we have to closely monitor so that complicates things in the cleaning department (not that I would have it any other way, because I obviously love my kids and sometimes myself.)

but that got me looking into other options I kept seeing commercials for Grove Co. and I finally just caved and said what have I got to lose?! The answer of course was absolutely nothing let me tell you this was probably one of the best choices I could’ve made for my family. Now, this is not me saying that it works for everyone I’m just speaking from our experience and what works for my household. but when I caved I caved big my order had so many things in it, SOO MANY!

my order included;

  • 1 grove co matte cleaning Caddy {$14.95}
  • 40ct unscented seedling by Grove tree-free compostable kitchen wipes 100% Bamboo. {$3.95}
  • 2 Grove go reusable glass cleaning spray bottles with silicone sleeves (cream & light blue) {$14.95 each}.
  • *2ct Grove Co multi-purpose cleaner concentrate {$6.95}.*
  • *1 Grove co glass cleaner concentrate streak-free formula refill {$3.95}*
  • *1 Grove co all-purpose household cleaner concentrate refill {$3.95}*
  • 1 set of Grove co microfiber cleaning cloths in cream {$7.95}.
  • 1 pack 2ct Grove co walnut scrubber sponge {$4.95}.
  • 1 Method brand 24-ounce toilet cleaner spearmint scent {$5.49}
  • 1 Method brand citron scented 28 ounce all-purpose + anti-bac spray cleaner {$3.99}.
  • 1 16 ounces Mrs. Meyer’s brand Lemon verbena scented Multi-surface cleaner {$5.30}.
  • 1 method brand all-purpose cleaner 28-ounce bottle in lavender scent {$5.49}
  • 1 Mrs. Meyers 8 ounce room freshener in geranium scent {$5.49}.
  • One package seventh generation brand 35 count disinfecting multi-surface wipes In lemongrass Citrus scent {$4.49}.

**Items marked with an(*) we’re all purchased in the same scent, Orange & rosemary.**

14 items = $106.90 USD before tax. I know it sounds like a lot and believe me it is I now have a favorite cabinet in my house!

It’s of course in my laundry room way up high and baby-proofed so no toddlers or infants or curious monkey children can possibly harm themselves or waste product.

Of course, we all know I am an advocate for doing whatever works for you and your family just as I advocate and do what works for myself and mine.

But I can honestly tell you these products I would definitely order again maybe not on the frequency they suggest because I don’t run out as quickly but definitely keeping them on my roster of favorite things to use! I like that most of these products are safe to use in kid-centric areas, And so far none aggravate my asthma. I don’t think anything will ever change the fact that I’m a huge fan of cleaning with white vinegar but this grove subscription is a trick to keep up my sleeve it’s been a blessing to my family and I love being able to clean without putting myself at risk or potentially harming my children’s airways. Thanks to Grove I no longer have to clean while my children are out of my home or completely separated from the rest of the house.

These things are even safe to use on their highchairs. We even use the geranium scented room spray as my son’s calm-down spray! Bye-bye multicolored single-use plastic bottles from the supermarket the Warren‘s won’t be needing you anymore! I love that grove is sustainably friendly and eco-conscious not only am I providing my family with a clean home I’m also leaving my kids with a better earth! Little steps like that we can all take & they make a huge difference!

They’re always running promotions for free/reduced-priced products and their customer service is top-notch if you have any questions feel free to reach out!

Grove Co. brings the clean to you! We could all use a little more sanitation in our lives especially amid a global pandemic so why not start somewhere that is kinder to the earth we leave behind, those we love the most, and to ourselves?!

Tatorthoughts has gone Grove and we are not looking back!

Go do something great today!

XOXO Tator.

Disney On Ice 2021- The EXPERIENCE

On April 18 my family and I attended the 3 PM showing of Disney on ice – dream big at our local infinite Energy Arena. When they say they bring magic to the ice they mean it it was a magical experience for my entire family and I’m thankful to field entertainment for providing it. Well, we did not get our tickets for free they were kind enough to give us professional images afterward. We attended the show the day my daughter turned 10 months old and my son had just turned two a month earlier.

It was their first time experiencing anything like that especially since my daughter was born during the Covid pandemic.

However, it was well worth it. So many first took place that day and I’m so thankful we were able to attend as a family.

My family is extremely Disney-centric, though I must admit this was also my husband and I’s first time attending a Disney on-ice performance.

It was a comfort to know that I knew all the songs into realizing that my son recognized them all as well.

It’s hard to describe the atmosphere, One moment you’re sitting in a normal arena the next you’re completely immersed in a Disney universe complete with snow and even fire on the ice. It’s like you’re living the beloved stories that you know well and keep in your heart!

While I’m sure it was different because of COVID-19 precautions the pod seating was nice. My son had room to stand up and dance something I’m not sure he would’ve been able to do under other circumstances. I am so glad we participated in the free order of merchandise it was well worth it as the lines were so long it was hard to even attempt to do anything else if we hadn’t.

I’m pretty sure we went home with nearly everything they had to offer.  it was just too good to resist but we did spend more than I would’ve expected. We bought four Icee cups, ( One Ariel, Anna and Elsa, and two Olaf cups) Popcorn with a collector’s bucket, cotton candy with a Mickey crown,

A frozen light wand, A Disney on ice scrapbook, three official collectors programs, A coloring book, and a Disney on ice reusable shopping bag.

Like I said we invested.

It was my son’s first time eating cotton candy and icees so for that alone it was worth it.

We also participated in a staged photo. It didn’t turn out the greatest but then again nothing ever does when you have two very excited and slightly confused Irish twins.

However, the photo in the frame will be something my family cherishes for quite a while. It’s been a very memorable experience and while my children might be too young to remember for very long my husband and I will remember forever. We’re blessed that we’re able to take our kids to do things like this and understand that not all families are as lucky. But if you have your doubts or question whether it’s worth it, I would say go for it without a doubt. At the very least you walk away making memories with your family and to me, that’s more priceless  & precious than anything.

Masks were required unless taking commemorative photos or actively eating and drinking.

The show ran for about two hours with an intermission.

We saw the stories of Moana, frozen, the little mermaid, Aladdin, tangled, Cinderella, and sleeping beauty. There were also several guest appearances by other Disney favorites like Mickey and Minnie!

The show was very beautifully put together you can tell how much dedication and work had been put into everything. The set itself that stayed consistent on the ice was rather simple but they made up for it for the several floats that made their way around the ice like Moana‘s boat and Cinderella‘s carriage!

I must say field Entertainment did a wonderful job with this and may have even outdone themselves!

We’re looking forward to other FEI events in the future, such as monster trucks. however, I wouldn’t say no to attending another Disney on ice show.

It was beautifully done and my children enjoyed the experience very much. By the time it was over they were restless my daughter had even fallen asleep my son was hungry and we knew it was time to go eat so we took the opportunity to go eat as a family with 4 generations. My grandmother,!my mother, my husband & myself and our children. Attending dream big gave me a ton of ideas for our daughter’s princess-themed first birthday party that we’re gearing up for in June!

Again I’m so glad we got to experience this with both of them after all I don’t know what my life would be like without my babies.

We are blessed beyond measure and so thankful for these memories I’d like to give a huge shout out to field entertainment for making sure that even if my kids are too young to remember they always have spectacular photos to look back on! And for allowing me to share some of those with you *all rights to these professional photos belong to FEI*

Dream big is a show that proves everyone loves Disney everyone has a story and everyone can be a hero Princesses, Princes, Superheroes, villains everyone regardless of their background has an origin story and I can’t wait for my children to be able to tell their own. Disney magic was brought to the ice with snow fire pyrotechnics and pure joy erupted from the audience making it a truly once-in-a-lifetime kind of unforgettable

Lyons Den Designs – custom timeout chair product review.

Tatorthoughts recently collaborated with Samantha from Lyons den designs and y’all have got to see the magic she’s got up her sleeves!

I had the pleasure of working with her to customize two IKEA MAMMUT Time out Chairs.  They are ADORABLE! Samantha did her thing and took two basic white chairs and make them something any parent could be proud for their child to have even if it is for time out.

Fear not, these chairs are a blank slate for Lyons den designs you can personalize them to fit your child’s interests, if you can think it Samantha can make it. Her attention to detail is impeccable. Her dedication to her work is top-tier! But just when you think it can’t get any better it does! Her customer service is incredible, seriously one of the best I’ve ever had the opportunity to work with.

Assembly was a breeze.

It took me less than 12 minutes to assemble both chairs even with my dexterity and coordination that more often than not leaves much to be desired.

No tools required, they truly are align, click & go.

If these chairs can fairly comfortably hold a 5”5 adult woman I have no doubt they’ll take almost any beating a child of time out chair age (let’s say 2-8 years old for the sake of the review) can deliver.

These are chairs any child would be proud to own. Though they may be for time out they don’t have to be ugly.

Unlike Agatha Trunchbull, we don’t believe time out should be in a dark damp corner or the infamous “chokey.”

Timeout is a time of self-reflection used to discern how a child can make better decisions but it surely doesn’t have to always be an ugly or even a completely negative thing. After all, children are just small people, learning to navigate the world the same way we as adults do.

Around here we do 1 minute for every year of age for the length of timeout. We explain, sit and explain again. It’s more of a constructive teaching opportunity than punishment.  Samantha has you covered though! With the option of a removable, working timer you can set it without worries of forgetting it! She went so far as to include velcro command strips in our package! (Talk about customer service!)

Cut, peel, stick DONE!

We’ve placed ours on the back of the chair, out of sight and fairly well out of reach of those that will sit in these little seats.

They’re sturdy, visually appealing, super easy to assemble, and a constructive learning tool for growing minds and big hearts with big emotions. These are a perfect addition to our quiet thinking spot & you really can’t go wrong. You can personalize them any way you like to best fit your family’s needs. Send her a pm.

But these aren’t all she makes! Head on over to Lyons Den designs and let her make you something fabulous, tell her Tatorthoughts sent ya!

our mothers day…

Today is bereaved Mother’s Day this is something most people don’t think about unless they have a reason to unfortunately I have three reasons. Those three reasons are the children who made me a mom before the world recognized me as one. I am a mom in many ways biological, bonus, angel.

But more often than not, only one of those is recognized.  Can you guess which? This is a very hard thing for me to talk about but it’s real, it’s raw, It’s part of my testimony and it’s something People deserve to see because my story might give another mama hope or peace. I am not ashamed. I am simply part of a club no parent ever wants to join. I am bereaved. I am blessed beyond measure but on days like today, I am broken, grieving for the lives I created but never got to know here on earth.  I grieve what would have been, what should have been but what simply isn’t. Today is my Mother’s Day too. My arms may not be empty but there are spaces in my heart that forever will be.

I stand with every mom remembering their children today and speaking their names in a world that would still prefer we didn’t.

To the children and babies of any age that made us moms, we haven’t forgotten you, we love you and wouldn’t trade the joy and honor of being your moms for anything. We are grateful for our surviving children but they don’t replace their siblings or lessen the grief we feel. which of your children could you stand to lose?

we know how fragile life is, we know how quickly things can change and if love could’ve saved you you would have lived forever.

we always remember, today the world does too.
